The thyroid hormones are connected to all the other hormones in the body, and if for some reason they become off balance or you get a thyroid infection then this has various effects on you body and getting irregular periods is one of those effects. Most of the causes to an irregular period are usually hormonal related.

It is possible to regain a normal cycle by mostly ensuring that you eat a healthy balanced diet and getting food supplements that will give your body the extra nutrients that it needs. Exercising and giving your body the relaxation it needs is also another way of ensuring that your periods will be regular.
